WE NEED YOUR HELP!

As most of you know Mark loved cars and all things automotive. Mark was one of the of the infamous members of Team - Blue Bowl Racing which was planning its first attempt to win...(or finish) the 24 Hours of Lemons car race this year, www.24hoursoflemons.com

This years New England event is being held at Stafford Springs Speedway in Stafford Springs, Connecticut this coming weekend, August 23rd and 24th.

In honor of Mark we have decided to rename our Team GoGreen Racing. Go Green was Mark's newest business venture and is being carried on by Jen and the kids, with lots of help from Chris and Kim. You can check out the website at www.gogreengarb.com. Mark lived life with such passion, he had an impact on everyone he met, and his passing has been hard on all of us. We all miss Mark, but our sadness can't compare to the grief his family has endured.

Team GoGreen Racing is asking for your help to raise money for the educational fund created for Jack, Riggs and Maddy. We would like your pledges for donations based on the number of laps we complete in the race. The race is 15.5 hours in duration, and the track is .8 of a mile long. Assuming we average 35 - 40 miles an hour, we should complete roughly 700 laps. This, of course, assumes we don't crash, the car doesn't fail us, etc...which is going to be a stretch due to the fact we are driving a 1989 Honda CRX we paid a whopping 400 dollars for.

So if we were to complete the entire race for a total of 700 laps and you pledge 1 penny a lap that would mean a 7 dollar donation....1 dime equals $70....you get the idea. All moneys raised, including the $1500 purse (paid in nickels) we would get if by some miracle we actually win, will be placed in the Mark J. Alosa Education Fund, c/o Laconia Savings Bank, 27 N. State St., Concord, 03301.

Please send an email indicating your pledge amount to markalosamemorial@yahoo.com

We will be sending out pictures of the car - when it is painted and logoed up later this week as well as pictures and video of the event and our official race results next week.
